Hello! Welcome to the blog for Our Mountain Honey, a vacation rental home in Breckenridge, Colorado that my husband Pearce and I recently purchased at the end of ski season last year. We could not be more thrilled about this new adventure! We are both native New Orleanians with a deep fondness for the kind of winter wonderland and mountain views that we just don’t get at home. Pearce grew up skiing with his family at their home in Snowmass, and when we discovered this truly charming mountain home for sale in Breckenridge, he knew he had found the perfect vacation home to create those same memories with his own children. The kids are in school for another ten years, so our retirement in Colorado isn’t exactly around the corner. We decided to keep the name that came with the house and continue to operate the home as a vacation rental when we aren’t using it. It has been a joy to spruce up the home and get it ready for the upcoming ski season- we have replaced the bed linens, cookware, and outdoor gas grill. We replaced the living room sectional with the “Cadillac of Sleeper Sofas”- the American Leather Comfort Sleeper. When Pearce and I have the entire Wood family over, it is where we will be sleeping so we can assure you your performance on the mountain won’t suffer because you had to sleep on the sleeper sofa.
I am completely and 100% digging the vacation rental home business. It is heartwarming to connect with lovely people planning their own vacations who have decided our home is the place they want to have their family fun. Before we purchased the home, we had the opportunity to visit the previous owner’s online listings, and she had 37 five star reviews. We read reviews from so many families that feel like Our Mountain Honey is their second home, and how it has such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I don’t want to be too hokey, but I think that warmth comes from the energy of all the previous guests- happy, loving people enjoying nature and each other’s company. The torch of hospitality has been passed to us, and we will continue to welcome guests to enjoy their Breckenridge vacation at our rental home, Our Mountain Honey.
